DEPC EMERGING PROFESSIONALS MEETING
(Emerging professionals are considered to be age 40 and under or less than 5 years in their respective discipline)

Time: 7:30am Breakfast and 8:00-9:00am Program

Educational Program: Insights on Diversity and Inclusion in Wealth Management and Estate Planning: The lack of diversity across advisors and clients in financial, estate and charitable planning can be both a peril and opportunity. Panelists will help us understand these challenges and successes while illuminating trends, providing practical tips, and sharing ideas across multiple lenses of diversity and inclusion.
Panelists:
Dr. Ajamu C. Loving, PhD: Professor of Finance at UNT-Dallas with a research focus on diversity and millennials. Past speaker at the FPA National Conference.
Shawn Wills: Charitable giving professional, formerly the Sr. Vice President of Development at Texas Women’s Foundation (formerly Dallas Women’s Foundation). Topics include women in philanthropy, the rise of affinity-based giving circles and realities and opportunities for women and people of color in the philanthropic sector.
Jeffrey S. Hamilton: Attorney at The Blum Firm and Board Certified in Estate Planning & Probate. Topics include diversity and inclusion within the legal and estate planning profession, including LGBTQ clients and advisors.
Moderator: Sergio Garcia, Associate Planner with Quest Capital Management.
Special Welcome & History of the Arts District: Zenetta S. Drew, Executive Director of Dallas Black Dance Theatre
Parking: Complimentary parking in Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s gated lot off Ross Avenue & Arts Plaza will be limited. Additional $6 parking is available in the non-gated surface lots next to One Arts Plaza & 7-Eleven. Please allow time for parking or consider using Uber/Lyft.
